i have a 98 X with the contral trac transfer case  . i plan on swapping in a 1354 as soon as i can find one for a half way decent deal, but in the mean time, i would like to get the TC i have to work.
i checked all fuses in the truck, and its not the shift motor, it goes between 4hi and 4 low without any hint of a problem, but i can not get any action up front. checked all my brown wire wiring, and even ran a resistance check and i get no resistance(or very very little) between where i spliced before the switch and all the way to the transfer case itself. so i know that its ok.
after i checked all of my wiring, i took it to some loose dirt/gravel, and spun the tires, GOOD NEWS! my rear locker definitely works, but bad news is
my front tires do nothing... at all.
So the only thing i can think of is my electro magnetic ramp deal went out. any body have any ideas? theres a huge run tomorow at a local ohv park and i really want to go, but not if i only have 2wd. althought it would beat last time when i had to limp out in 2wd with open diff tho.(never cut your dangling mirror with the battery connected.)
any help/ideas is greatly appreciated.
thanks,
Aric
