temp/ compass

i have an 06 eddie bauer with the electronic temp control. it displays the outside temp in the temp control. on explorers with manual temp it displays the temp in the inst cluster. Is there a way to do this on my vehicle. maybe with the engineering mode?

I saw that in some tech manual that said it was setup like that. Unluckly though it didnt say anything about changing it. It said it was only on the rigs with elec. temp. control. There has goto be a way to add it.
