While driving from NC to Ill my temp gauge quite registering. Stopped at a Ford dealer in VA and they said as long as I was getting heat it was probably the gauge and it would be okey and have it checked when I got to Ill. Took it in when I arrived and the dealer said it was the temp gauge and they replaced it. As I drove home, the new gauge didn't read much different than the old one. It operates in about a 1/8 inch range from the peg on the cold side. I have lots of warm air and it heats up in just a few minutes. Called the dealer and he said the gague is working and that is where it will read. Doesn't sound right to me. Before, the old gauge read about one quarter up the scale from cold. Now it just rests of the peg on the cold side or rises about 1/8 inch. Dealer said he will do some further checking and call me tomorrow. Is this normal? I have never had a vehicle that read that low on the temp guage. As I said before, it heats up in normal time and I have pleanty of hot air coming out. Any suggestions?
