Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Thanks to all of those who have helped me and all the others on these forums keeping our explores running!

My oil needle goes right to hot when I start the truck and stays there. If I turn only the accessories on, it drops a bit but this could be after a few min driving.

few years ago I switched my cluster lights out to LEDs with the help of a friend. Doing that, he took the skin off to remove the colored gel behind the icons so the colored LED wouldn’t mix. After putting everything back is when I noticed the needle wasn’t actin right. But we had marked everything and took pictures of where things were set.

ive attached pics. Hopefully they come out in order. Car off. Accessories. Engine running (it’s off the charts here. Also noticing with the car off it’s not resting against the little needle. Does that make a difference??

thanks all!

edit. I did check the oil after driving it like an hour or so ago, and then once again once around the house as it stalled when I parked coming back from a trip around the neighborhood. It’s right about the hash marks/full line. It’s due for an oil change anyway.

I would ignore it. That’s an oil pressure indicator. It only shows pressure/no pressure. It doesn’t give any sort of reading as to high normal or low.

It says you hit oil, you're going to be rich! On a more serious note, it could be the sender on the engine block, resister on the gauge, or a short in the wiring csusing this erratic behavior.
