I have read other posts on cycling or fluctuating temperatue guages but no one seems to have a common fix. Here is my situation on my 1993 EB: Several weeks ago I had a new Modine two row radiator installed, along with a Ford HD fan, Ford HD fan clutch, Ford 195 degree thermostat, Ford temperature sending unit and new Ford radiator hoses. Since them, my temperature guage fluctuates or "dances" from N to L on the guage. Any suggestions as to a fix to the problem? Thanks Mike

I'm thinking...1. Air in the coolant. 2. Radiator cap. 3. Thermostat .
Park up hill and run the engine up to temp with the cap off to get air out. Pressure test the cap. Check out that the t-stat is installed correctly and if so replace it. New one could be bad.
Good luck....

ive heard of some guys getting stant 16lb pressure rad caps. they've said it solves the problem. and burp your system. i had trapped air--sounding like a four year old playing drums under the hood--and cycled more than usual. my .02

Thanks Bill and Rossneag: Forgot to mention when I had all he work done I also installed a new Stant 13 lb. cap. I will try the parking up hill method to see if that helps. I also may try a 16 lb. cap. Thanks for both of your responses. Mike

Same problem

Everything but the Rad cap is new in the cooling system and I am getting the same thing. Anyone think that if the rad has a slight blockage itmay cause this. Anyway I'll try a new cap first.
Thanks
Bill

My new 13 lb Stant cap did not help, Bill. So I may try a 16 lb. cap. So does anyone think the additional 3 lbs. of pressure in the system of a 16 lb. cap might cause a waterpump or gasket leak elsewhere? My radiator is new and I still have the fluctuation. Thanks Mike
