Is there a way to test an oil pressure gauge & the sending unit on a 95 4.0 Explorer?
Mine sometimes reads low or nothing at all.

Also is there a way to test my tach, its doing the same thing as the oil gauge?

I've already pulled the cluster.

Smack the top of the dash with your hand where the gauge is. The gauge on my 95 sticks sometimes and smacking it makes it jump right to where it belongs. BTW, it's not really a calibrated gauge, it's more like an on/off deal.

you can test the ohms resistance in the sending unit, these gauges aren't THAT accurate but close enough, to test the actual arrow indicator you'd have to rip apart the cluster and test the voltage and resistance reading throughout the sweep of the needle on the resostat

at the end of the day it's not that worth the work, however i have heard about guys building in Autometer sending unit and indicators into the stock locations and making it look stock too

Is there any way to test the wiring for the tach & oil gauge to see if they are receiving the correct current to make them work.
Lately they aren't working at all.
I'm also having problems with the dash lamps, but I think I'll start a new thread for tha
