Well I had my "auto buddy" come over, and he told me what would be needed to lift the explorer. This is what if I recall right he said.
Well first we called Fly-N-Hi see if they had any kits for the 95 IFS, they said they have the (part #9637) 4" Superlift kit, that has dropdown brackets for $1450, my buddy said that seemed a bit odd, so I looked online, and found the same kit for $527 (cha-ching)
Then for the back just use blocks and make a 3-link suspension or something. Which he said is pretty cool or something, I dunno anything about it.
Then a PA 3" body lift.
Think I'm gonna put 35x12.5 Thornbirds on. Prolly just gonna keep the cheap'o rims that are on the explorer right now, or buy the heavy steel rims, so if i bend/break a rim or something, it won't cost hardly anything to replace it.
He also suggested switching out the differentials/gears since with the bigger tires the tranny will be working much harder with the stock gears.
Does this sound about right? I have total faith in my buddy, I mean the guy's a genious. Just wanted to throw it up, to see if anyone had any comments or anything.
Any comments/suggestions are glady welcomed!!
