ticking, and shaking... need help

I have a 99 eddie bauer 5.0 and i have no heat. The front driver side floor stays damp. I am starting to hear a ticking noise coming from the engine behind the dash panel. It ticks when im at idle and gets faster and louder when i accelerate. When i drive for a while the truck starts to sound like its a deisel. I also noticed this morning a little vibration when i stop. I had suspected that it was the heater core but now im afraid that it might be more than that. O also my temp gauge stoped working. Please help..thanx.
