Hey guys and gals,

Need your advice/opinion. In the market for some new tires (AT or MT's) and would love to go as large as possible, however, due to limited time I will not be able to install the Truxx lift for about 2 months. I'm in need of tires now however (wife's daily driver and it's getting to danger-zone low.)

So here's my question. Can someone recommend a tire-size that will still fit with stock height, but, also look good once lifted? I know the stock size (235/65r18 on my EB) looks pretty bad once lifted, so curious if anyone has some info on a good compromise between a tire that works w/stock lift and also looks good once lifted.

Thanks!

It's a trick question.
The correct answer is don't mess with the wife's daily driver.

I know - that wasn't your question. Is the wife asking for larger tires and a lift kit?
That would probably be a first.

Why put out the money for her DD when it does nothing for her daily commute?

I'll shut up now.

Mud tires vs all terrains is night and day. How much highway? Miles per year? Is she going to be content with tires that howl or whine? Or considerably worse mileage or ride comfort?

Most here including me went to 265-60-18 and it barely fits at the full turn.

Ha - My wife isn’t your typical clueless motorist. She comes from a background of lifted trucks with mud terrains, does her own oil changes and has been asking for this change for a few years. Her birthday is next month so finally moving forward as a birthday present lol. She also is part of a women’s 4 wheel group. Rides with a friend currently but wants to start taking the explorer - they don’t do anything too crazy (by my standard anyway hah.). If they did we’d look to something other than the explorer. She could care less about driving hum - the wine won’t be anywhere as bad as what we’ve had before lol.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand!

Thanks. Are you stock ride height? Concerned that that height will still show too much wheel gap after the lift. Do you think you could have squeeezed a 265-65 or 70 under there?

I am stock height. You could squeeze 65 or 70 but at the most left or right turn it would rub without the lift.
