Hey you guys, i was noticing yesterday when I washed my car, after I was done I noticed my tires where crooked, here is an example of how they look:

Both of them in the front look this: this is the passenger side-----> / \ <------ this is the driver side. What causes the tires to look like this? :(

Get an alignment, they work wonders, and if you have big tires, the weight may cause them to tilt a little. My 37's do it a little.

I just had an alignment like 2 weeks ago. It can't be possible that it needs alignment again. Any other suggestions?

I don't have big tires either, just the normal stock tires and rims

take it back they should do it for free or tell you that you need the camber adjusters

Well took the X back to the shop to get these things checked. Seems like the arm bushing, (I think that's what it's called) moved out of place and made the alignment off and the tires crooked. The ride felt more comfortable but I still get that bouncy crap which hopefully I'll be getting new shocks today. Are Monroe Shocks a good quality?

yes monroe makes a good shock.... the reflex or sensatrac are great..i have one of thoes on my x but dont rememember what one, but it rides nice

Well I went to NTB to see if I could get the shocks (Monroe Sensatrac) turns out to be that I asked for shocks and when they check to see if I need shocks, my rear brakes and rotors are gone and that I will need to replace them, they told me the metal was scratching with metal and that's not good. Turns out that for everything, shocks and rotors they wanted $835 plus tax and I was like F*** NO!!! And I left the shop. I don't mind taking my ride to the auto mechanic but the things is that my auto mechanic gets normal parts not good performance parts and I want something different for a change and my auto mechanic would cost half of that amount than NTB.

How bout gathering a little courage and trying to do some maitanence yourself.

Not only will you save money on parts and labor, but you will be able to install the parts you want and you know it'll be done right.

Shocks, rotors, and pads are very easy to do.

I guess I'm just a little timid about it

Between the factory manuals and the dudes here on Explorer forum, you can likely do anything that can be done to an Explorer.

My rule is:

Buy the tools...
Buy the manual...
Start turning the wrenches...
Ask questions if you get stuck...

The next job is way cheaper than the first - becase you already own the tools - the book - and you have now learned that auto repair is not rocket science...

Well got my X fixed with Monroe Sensatrac Shocks, new rear rotors and emergency brakes. I took the car to Just Tires yesterday to get my wheels balanced and rotated. Turns out to be that the X improved in handling but it's still is a rough ride after all that labor. I'm thinking it's the tires that are probably rough. I was thinking of getting the new Goodyear Assurance, I don't know if anyone has tried them? So basically I'm still not happy about the X being kind of bouncy, any other suggestions?

It's not the tires that is making your ride bouncy.

Than what more can it be?? Can you tell me?

Did you read the top thread buddy? I did replace my shocks, but like I said I'm still not that happy.

Deleted my post. Sorry, guess I just missed it.
