I just got my new MyTouch 4G Slide (running Android 2.3), and tested the phonebook download. It works!
The Comet (running Android 2.2) is also compatible!
TMobile MyTouch 4G (without the slide, and running Android 2.2) is not phonebook compatible, it will seize up when downloading the phonebook.
