Hey, hopefully I can get some guidance here.
About a month ago I bought an 08 Sport Trac Limited with the 4.6l.

I thought the struts were bad because the ride is pretty jumpy and there was a noticable amount of negative camber in the rear wheels, which I thought was due to broken or worn out springs (OE springs and 300k on the odometer...)

Anyway, once I got in there I noticed quite a bit of rust on the frame. On the driver's side the toe link bracket nearly came completely detached in the process of removing the strut.

I got the new struts installed but the negative camber is still there.

I think I'm looking at welding up the frame to reattach and reinforce this area.

Any thoughts, ideas, knowledge? Does a kit exist for this repair or will it be all fab work?

All I can say is, when you see rust like that it is almost always worse than it looks at first glance. Living in the north east my whole life I'm very familiar with frame rust. I loved my 99 Ranger and the body was still clean but the frame just dissolved. I fought it for a good while but it was a losing battle.
All of that doesn't help you so I will say, put it up on a rack and check it out well before investing more money into it.

Believe you didn't pay so much for this rusty fellow, but how much heavy metal sheets you will use?
Normaly it is a boxed frame , but it looks like it is "open" from below.
If you decide to fix it, i will keep my fingers crossed.
