I purchased a 2016 Explorer Sport model from a private (original) owner a couple of years ago. It is a Canadian model as the original owner was from Canada. I am in the US (Florida) and tried to make an appointment for the the Toe Link Recall. I gave the advisor my VIN over the phone and he said when he put it in the computer he got a big warning saying "Warning Warning Warning Vehicle Sold in Canada". Because of this he doesn't know if I am covered.

Has anyone in the group tried to get warranty work done on a Canadian Explorer here in the States and what was the outcome. Thanks in advance for your input.

Unless specified, all Recalls, TSBs and other notices from Ford apply to the Explorer regardless of whether it was built for Canada or the U.S. Warranty coverage applies the same way. The Toe Link Recall has the same recall number.

This is on your service advisor how to get it into their system so it's covered. Can't s/he just try to enter it in as they normally would?

He put in his system like he normally does and that is when all the red flags came up. I will be bringing it next week. I was wondering if anyone else has had experienced a recall on a Canadian vehicle in the US and what their outcome was. Thanks,

Maybe check with another dealer. As mentioned, there is no separate recall for Canadian and U.S. versions of the Explorer.
