was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on a toolbox that would fit on the back of the ST. Should be just enough to fit many basic tools and not too expensive. Any ideas? Is there such thing as a factory toolbox? If time owning a truck, what do I look for in a toolbox? thx in advance

Tool boxs for stepside for pickups will fit our truck especially the ranger stepside box.. My opninon I went to Home Depot and bought a heavy duty box that's lockable and put it In in the back of the bed drilled hole through box and bed and but bolts and wing nuts the it to stop it from moving and so no one can steal it and its easy to take out because its only wing nutted

Any toolbox for "midsize" trucks fit. That's what mine is. There's a DeeZee factory outlet about a mile down the road. $50 for a "scratch and dent". I drilled holes through the end of my toolbox and ran bolts into the threaded holes for the mounting bolts for the factory cover.

Keep in mind with ANY toolbox mounted across the top of the truck box, you will not be able to see the tailgate of your Sport Trac due to the slope of our truck beds. Mine is only about 3" above the truck box, and I'm 6'3 and I can't see the tailgate. The ST is a lot longer and has a bigger turning radius than the '94 Explorer I was used to, so backing out of a parking space not being able to see the rear of my truck has been a concern. It also works as a good reason to keep my wife from driving my truck!

wish I had a deeze factory outlet near me. I might have to just look on craigslist. So any midsize truck toolkit should work...So I pretty much have to drill into the truck bed? seems scary...not sure if I want a full side toolbox unless i have one on each side which is an overkill for me. Maybe I need something midsize but low profile, so i can still see the rear of the ST

I DID NOT DRILL ANY HOLES IN THE TRUCK. I drilled through the ends of the toolbox and ran bolts from the inside of the toolbox and screwed them into the existing threaded holes in the sides of the truck box.

okay thanks! always trying to find compartment space for basic tools and battery charger. I also realized there is a hidden compartment in the bed. I'll see if this works
