Well, I'm thinking of having my torsion bars tightened on my 'sploder to get a little more tire clearance. I've heard this can be bad for the truck. Any thoughts? Just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something stupid before I had it done. Thanks for the help.

You do not have Torsion bars on your 1992. The torsion bars didnt come about on the explorer until 1995.

If you are looking for just a little tire clearance you will need to run a 2" lifted skyjacker spring, or some F150 coil spacers. If you use the search key and search the F150 Spacer you will come up with many threads about this. Good Luck!

well you cant do a TT on your truck because it doesnt have torsion bars. The next best thing you can do for your truck for about the same ammount of lift and not that much expense is to do the F150 spacer lift.
