I just did a custom SOA conversion, and I had a problem with the welds. they broke off when i hit the gas pretty good. my fabricator suggested that i get traction bars, or ladder bars. will this hurt articulation? does anybody make them for the explorer? i checked with jamed duff, and the ranger bars won't work with the explorer....so that option won't work. any ideas anyone? thanx in advance!

Riff, traction bars normally bolt on where the ubolts go so that wouldn't help and ladder bars would need to be set up with a floating end link, read more money. Both hang down and would decrease your ground clearance and would decrease your flex. Just get the perches welded on right. Theres seventy two and a half million trucks out there on the road that don't break the welds on the perches, so if they do it right it will be fine.

I think your fabricator is trying to fatten his wallet up.

And by the way, on a 4x4 traction bars are normally called traction lifts, they go between the spring and the axle tube.
