DOH! I was hoping my a4ld would hold for another 6 months or so but was let down. On the way to see family on christmas the trans was slipping like crazy. I pulled off at a gas station to check fluid and it was 2 quarts low. Well I checked it before this 80 mile drive and was perfect. RUT ROH. Added fluid in a hope to make it to my familys. None such, started slipping like crazy so I stopped at a fast fod place. There was a solid trail of fluid leading into the lot. after sitting there about 2 mins there was atleast a quart and a half of fluid under the truck. Now I gotta get my X towed 80 miles back home. Though I havent checked it out yet its probably the Front pump seal that failed. Man this sucks. I just dont have the cash for another trans right now.
OK sorry I am done *****ing

First thing is obviously going to be figure out whats wrong. Got the truck to my job tonight thatks to a uhaul. Wonder how much I can find a 700r4 for and how much to get it built for the 4.0. I am tired of this trans

Thanks, I've been told 6 hrs for a 1997. He says the
transfer case has to come out as well, can anyone verify
this.
