Tranny problem in the 92 Sport

Looking at the possible donor for a trail vehicle and stumbled upon this 92 Sport that has a small tranny problem... it only shifts when you let go of the gas pedal.... is it a simple problem or will it require extensive tranny work?

I haven't worked on the 1st generation in a while..

Would that be a manual or auto? I have only ever had a manual so i can only say for those.

c'mon... it is an automatic... it shifts into the next gear only when you let go of the gas pedal. It might be a simple fix but then it could be gone...

My previous Sport was a manual... I still have the old tranny sitting in my back yard... might go for a rebuilt. You never know what I'm gonna buy next.
