tranny problems?! argh!

AAH! for the past 3 days I've been drivig a rental NEON!! I hate it! my mounty's tranny is being rebuilt.. its went bad on me.. oh the horror.. going from my RWD v8 with ROOM inside to a FWD 4.. its driving me crazy yall..

so whats up with this? 4 years old and my trannys shot? anyone else ever had such a problem? maybe I'm driving too hard? I don't tow anything...

well from the descriptions in months past it sounded like you had major tranny problems. you shouldnt get beat off the line WITH a v8 by a semi, thats just not comprehendable!

Yeah I got serious tranny problems.

I too have had serious tranny problems in my Explorer. My tranny lasted to 105k mile before needing a rebuild. The rebuild lasted 6 weeks, truck slipped into neutral on the interstate and reved out blowing the motor too. Brought the truck back, they had it a week and said it was fine now. Brought it home, went out for a ride the next morning and the truck wouldnt get out of first. I brought it back again, same problem except it was 3 months later. Now its about 9 months later and it doesnt down shift to first when you come to a stop. At this point I have given up, ive had the truck 7 years and its time for it to go to the boneyard.

oh god, that sounds like a whole lotta fun.. I was talking to my dad the other day and he informed me that their towncar also needed a rebuild at around 30k miles.. I have 54k now...

Newer transmissions just suck . I never understand how a 1973 Ford Pickup tranny lasts for 20 years before a rebuild but a 1995 tranny dies in 4 years .....
