Tranny replacement costs and questions

I am pretty sure the tranny on my truck is about to go and it's the original as far as I know. How much is it gonna run me for a rebuild and for a full replacement? And does anyone know if the tranny for the 4.0 v6 OHV is compatible with a 302? Thanks in advance.

Cost me about $2800. That is on the high side, but I have a full 2 year warranty and everything was replaced. Most people get theirs done for $1200-1800.
