This has happened to me a few times, and I am not sure what it might be, so before I go to the shop and hear "well we don't actually look at vehicles anymore until we have put it on the diagnostic machine for 3-4 hours at $60 an hour", I thought I would run it by you guys first. I have a 97 sport 4.0 SOHV with about 65,000 miles on it. While cruising at about 70mph with the cruise set, my tach will shoot up to redline and it's like I had thrown my truck into neutral and kept the pedal to the floor. Has anyone had this experience? Any ideas as to what it might be? I've had the tranny fluid flushed, levels are good. I don't know, do you? Thanks
