Hi yall I am a newbie who just bought a 92 sport 4x4 and I am already planning on lifting it and giving it 35's, the only thing stoping me is that i have heard many BAD things about the transmissions (especaly the 5 speeds) in explorors, I was hoping that someone here whould would know a stronger tranny that I could bolt in? Does the 4.2 in the F150 have the same bolt pattern? Or if there is no direct fit is there one that would only require a adapter plate? Basicaly I am a cheap redneck that hates when stuff breaks, do you have any advice for me?

atleast you have the manual. its throwout and pilot bearings are weak but the tranny as a whole is much better than the A4LD auto

If I replace the throwout and pilot barrings with stronger aftermarket ones do you think that B1 tranny will hold up to 35s. I don't drive hard on the road and I crawl offroad. If I change my diff gears that will also take some strain off my tranny gears right? Well just in case the whole schabang goes pop do you know of a solid swap? I hate to admit it but the one thing that Chevy has over Ford is the swaps, if your 350 tranny is too weak you can slap a 400HD on it with mininum modifacation, or so I have been told.
