Replacing Radiator

Fittings for Transmission Cooler that go into Radiator:

-Do you use any type of thread sealant on them when reinstalling? (& If 'yes', what would be recommended?)

-Are they usually 'ok' to get out, or is there anything that I need to be aware of when I try to remove?

-Is 'leakage' a big problem on them after detaching?

Thanks for any help.

Nope i have never use any kind of sealant on them and have never had a problem with them leaking.

should be fine getting them out just make sure you have the wrench firmly on the fitting before turning it, otherwise you could round the fitting pretty easy.

best here is if you have it is to use a line wrench which will have a firmer grasp on the fitting and reduce the chance of rounding it off.

after getting them off you might wanna have a bucket under them they won;t leak a lot of fluid but a little will leak from em. Or use a length of rubber hose and slip it over the ends to prevent further leakage.

Hope this helps

lemme try posting that again....

ditto the above... and..

put a wrench on the radiator side fitting or you will stripbreak that side of it. If you do that while installing it you normally void the warranty
