Trans wont shift unless you let off the gas pedal - required total rebuild

So my Dads OD light started flashing, and the explorer would only shift if you let off the gas. You had to drive it like a semi auto.

After a tear down, it required a total rebuild, the case had to be re-bored.
New converter too.

Dad says it drives better than ever now... and so it should...

No my Dads is an 2002, 4.6, 4x4

Where did your dad get the rebuild done? Dealer or transmission shop?

It was a transmission shop. Thats all they do is trans.

Yeah thats alot, but it was a total rebuild.
He had the trans in his 96 rebuilt by a backyard guy for $1200 a few yrs ago and it didnt last a year. No warranty...
And when he went to have it rebuilt again, even the case was no good so he had to buy a junk yard one and have that rebuilt.

So he figured he'd just bite the bullet and have it done by a shop and get a warranty too.
