Transfer Case Fluid: To Change or Not To Change

I have never had the transfer case fluid changed. The sport has about 253k on it. Since it's been so long will it do more harm than good?

its really hit and miss with stuff like that alot of times its a good idea, but everyone once in while the slugg is the only thing holding it together
