Transfer case ? for 95+...

In my 95 I have the selection of 2wd, 4high/auto and 4low. I am wondering if the transfer case on the newer, 98+, are the same just the motor to select 4wd is diferent. I would like to have the 4auto, 4high and 4low selections. Only because my 4auto sucks as 4high. Any insight would be helpful. Dead Link Removed

It ought to be possible. The transfer case is essentially the same (Borg-Warner 44-05)as far as I can tell (I'm still researching this subject). The GEM computer controls the mode of operation, so I would think that the transfer case clutch reacts to the signals sent to it by the computer. If you can get hold of a shop manual, it may give some insights into the wiring scheme.

I don't know if the GEM can be programmed differently than that which Ford designates.
