Ok, after procrastinating for almost a year I am going to replace my transfer case shift motor on my '94 XLT. I haven't had 4x4 for a couple of years. I've fixed the hubs and feel confident that they work. I've tried all the fixes for the shift motor and nothing has worked. I took it in and they said it was definitely the transfer case shift motor. I am thinking I will just by one from Ford. I know the Ford Parts Network has them for $50 less, but won't refund anything for "electrical parts". The last thing I want to do is be stuck with 2 transfer case shift motors that don't work. If anyone has done this before, are there any tricks? I remember there being a brown wire that has to be cut. I assume I can just reconnect it when I'm done. Are there any tricks or snags that anyone has run across? Any suggestions/recommendations?
Thanks in advance!
