transfercase shift motor

i got a 94 sport an when i try the 4x4 i hear the click in the back by the jack but then i get a loud thump an bang from the transfercase.
wanting to know if it should be a loud an smacking engagement of 4x4 an 4lo ?

that not normal ..it should not bang like that...mine is a 1992 and dont make that BANG ..it shuold engage quietly

Check the shift motor, and the internal energizing coil which puts it into 4wd. Check the sticky threads on the brown wire mod, and the shift motor for more information.
