Hi!
My friend resently bougt a 89' Ranger, 2,9 liter, 4x4.
The car is pretty perfect but the transmission seems to be at bit strange.
It revs very high before it change gear. Even when starting from zero with only 1/3 throttle is waits until about 3500-4000 rpm before change from 2nd to 3rd.
When driving in the speed "between" 3rd and 4th the gear box sometimes hesitates and changes up and down a bit to often.
I don't know if is is supposed to be like this. Compared to my Explorer (99' with 4,0 liter) the gear change rpm seems very high.
Is there any vacuum hoses or is it only a wire to the gear box?
The oil level is exactly correct and the oil is red and smells fine.
Any suggestions?
Best regards
