they go for a LOT at auctions. cars have unibodies and get junked pretty easy, but trucks have frames that can be straitened easier and most suvs are rebuilt for that simple fact. it is a rebuldable vehicle under extreme wrecks. they tend to go pretty high when body shop people attend the auction because they just stretch the frame and straiten or replace the cab and it's on the road again.

even if they are involved in a rollover??
so i should just hit up a junk yard or a trany shop??

you already have a tranny with mileage on it that doesnt work, why would you want another tranny with mileage on it that will soon fail? if your gonna spend the cash, get a rebuild on the soft parts kit. the hard parts (as the tranny shops call them) are what is expensive (gears, bearings) the soft parts rebuild outta cost you around 500 bucks installed. thats new seals and bands and misc.

well my trany slips when it goes into second it does it the worse from 3rd to 2nd it almost feels like the trany is dragging because my ex feels alot slower these days it feels like i am towing a trailer all the time
would soft or hard parts casue this??

Put it in manual 2

and see if you have solid operation if so then intermediate clutch ok. Reverse would give you an indication of the high clutch. Any problems?

the clutches are included in the soft parts kit. call around and see if you can find a kit first and then find a shop that'll do the labor, then compare it to shops prices that will just do it all at once. tell them your tranny feels like it slips and you need a soft parts kit, your hard parts (gears, bearings) are ok. otherwise they will try and charge you for the total rebuild. 2k+

reverse seems to work well but when i reverse some times i hear a ratteling sound it almost sounds like my exaust hitting my frame or some thing

A good rebuild should have lasted longer

Rebuild doesn't mean much because a little or a lot could have been replaced. You need to provide a little more detail because what you have said doesn't point to anything.
