tried searching...what oil for 5r55e ?

As the tilte says..im installing the tranny and wanna add some oil to the TC befor installing the tranny... Also if u know how much oil to put in the tranny for first start upnwould help. Its completley empty.

Ford recommends Motorcraft Mercon V in the 5R55E. 2WD vehicles hold 9.5L and 4WD hold 9.8L but you can't get that much in until the pump has run. I'd hold back a couple of liters and then gradually top it off as it warms. I don't know if the specified capacity includes the external ATF cooler path. I'd check the level again after a 20 minute drive.
