Since I bought the truck used 4 years ago it has always started quickly with just a flip of the key. Now I notice there is a bit of a delay, and sometimes I have to turn the key and hold it while the truck turns over as much as 10 times before it starts. I park it in the garage and the temp is rarely below 40F. Seems to have the problem if it sits awhile, like overnight. Starts quickly if its warmed up. I keep it tuned up, and the battery is good, so my immediate attention is on the starter. Most of my driving is fairly short distances and I use it every day, so maybe the starter is getting some wear. It's not a "real" problem yet, but I'm assuming that it eventually will be. It began a couple of months ago.

Interesting info in this thread. Basically lower fuel pressure for one reason or another.

i would agree on fuel pressure it might be low on cold start. your system
might be losing fuel pressure when your truck sits. a starter could be
a problem area iv have had to hit a few of mine with a pipe to get it to work. but if starts good warm its more then often good you can have your parts store check it. i would also have them load check your battery
you could have a bad cell in there just my thoughts.

Thanks guys. The battery is good. I have a voltmeter plugged into the accessory plug. The voltage is good and it charges properly. Seems like it cranks normally, just takes a little while longer to fire. Will have to continue to monitor. In the spring I'll probably check the plugs and change the fuel filter again anyway.
