Does anyone know of/have a good mechanic in the Northern Virginia area or in and around Chesapeake, VA that they goto when having problems with their X?

what type of problems?

I've got a great guy off Great Neck Road in Virginia Beach who has been working on my family's cars for over 10 years.

MAtt97, I want to get my "pinging" problem looked at because it's getting worse. And my tranny is starting to show its age. Also, I'm at 104k and I want to start getting some things done, mainly tune up and stuff I really can't do myself (I'm limited living in an apartment complex. Got yelled at by management for putting the shackles on my truck in the parking lot).

VBVA, How close is that getting thier from 664?

I have been going to Cofer Auto in Smithfield for around 6 years and they have always done great work.

I grew up in Portsmouth and used to take my car to Fink's. I was as green as they come when it came to cars and they could have ripped me a new one but they treated me right. I haven't lived in Portsmouth for 4 years but I think my dad still takes his car there. They're on Victory Blvd. Take 64 to 264 get off on the victory blvd exit and turn right (away from the mall) go down about 3 miles and they're on your right.

Its a ways from 664. You would have to get on 264 through downtown Norfolk and take that all the way to the Beach from where you are. He is just right up the street from me, so its pretty convienient.

Thanks guys for the suggestions. I will definatly check out these mechanics. It's really frustrating not know where a good mechanic is and having to take it to some crappy dealer because of that. :frustrate

Thanks again....
