tryed 4x4 in snow today and it dont work.and still not charging?

well i am have problems with the altnator not chargin the battery i changed altnator 3 times and battery still not workin but it also not draining over night eaither, someone told me there was a fusible link in the harness but i cant find it or a diagram for fusebox under hood. then today i tried 4x4 cause it snowed and didnt work. i hit the button and the 4x4 light came on but didnt engage. now what?

1st thing I'd check with the no charge would be to make sure the battery cables are good, clean, and making good contact.

For the 4x4, where the light came on, it suggests to me that the transfer case shifted. This usually means one of the hubs didn't engage (not uncommon if you still have the stock auto hubs). This gets discussed a lot, so you might run this item through the site's search engine.
