As my sig says, I am getting a 94 4x4 Explorer soon. I am planning to swap in a 5.0 from a Mustang. I have read about the Incon Twin Turbo kits for 5.0 Mustangs, and I was wondering if anyone knew if this would fit in an explorer. I would like to get at least 300 horsepower out of this vehicle without nitrous.
I do understand that this much power would need some drivetrain re-engineering, so I have a deal with a friend to get the 9 inch rear out of his F150. I will also look for a D44 TTB to swap in.

On a similar subject, what tranny/x-case combo should I use? I like manual transmissions, and was thinking T5+Atlas2. Any suggestions?

I would NOT suggest a manual if you plan on runnin a turbo setup. especially in a truck like this, youre gonna lose alot of boost between shifts

Most turbo vehicles that I see (aside from turbodiesels) are manual. What makes the Explorer different?

I can shift fairly quickly in my Ranger, so shift speed doesn't seem like an issue.

The Explorer is currently an auto, so that may push me in that direction for simplicity's sake.
