Turns over a few times before firing

My 98 5.0 doesnt fire up right away anymore- sometimes its turns over a couple times before starting. Its intermittent and doesnt seem to matter if the truck is hot or cold. I was thinking maybe plugs and wires but what else could it be? Also, any tips for changing the plugs? I believe they are the originals and really dont wanna snap em off at the block trying to take them off. Thanks

How long has it been since it's been tuned up? If you say the plugs are original I would imagine things haven't been kept up.

If those plugs are original they'll probably come out hard. I did mine after they hadn't been done for many years and some were difficult. And my vehicle never seen salt. Half the wires were "frozen" to the plugs and had to be twisted off.
