u- joint?

Im new here with a 02 mountaineer awd. I have a grinding kind of noise when I get on the gas driving consistent with speed. It quiets a little bit when off throttle. Im thinking u-joint? I hope at least!_

If a u joint is extremely worn than yes you will hear a grinding noise while driving. To check if it is the u joint, you can try to turn the drive shaft be hand and if there is any play then you will need to replace the joint.

Did some checkin on stuff...u joints are good. Transfer case was low on fluid. And there seems to be an awful lot of slop by case. Sounds like a worn bearing? Or just a noisy AWD?
