When i shift my truck from D to R with the brake on you can feel a little jerk and a clunking sound..Also when driving on main street doing 30 or so i will let off the gas to slow up and then press the gas and you can feel this jerk and hear a clunking sound..It sounds like it is coming from the front.Even on the highway when i see i am only doing 50 at a coast and then step on it i would feel the little jerk..

I also forgot to mention sometimes when i am slowing up for a stop sign. I can feel it downshift and i can hear a cluck then too..

Might be your Slip joint in the rear driveshaft. It allows the driveshaft to extend and compress, and needs to be lubed.

Do a search, there is a thread regarding the lubing going on right now.
