Unable to start my 2017 explorer the morning.
Similar like this video but the SYNC screen says power off to save battery

I noticed the start up sound wasn’t right yesterday but I was able to start the car. Turned off and on a couple times. No issue.

2017 limited and current has 20k miles. I can’t take the car to dealership today and want to see if anyone has any ideas? Bad battery?

Thanks!!

Also, I can’t press the brake pedal. It has no pressure at all and unable to move the steering wheel either

Yes, sounds like a dead battery. Mine was replaced under warranty last month. I was able to jump start it and drive it to the dealer.

The instrument panel in the video you linked shows the message at 1:09 "charging system, service now".

Your brake pedal is hard as you've exhausted the vacuum. That'll be restored once the engine starts.

Try to get the car started with a jump. Your battery probably failed. Warranty swap.

Have you checked the battery connections? In the engine bay compartment relay #29 is designated as the Run/Start Relay. I wonder if that could be bad? I'm just throwing that in here since everything seems to light up and work. The battery in these Explorers can produce various strange symptoms.

Replace the battery....done, fixed.

The battery was bad and dealer replaced it. This is my first Ford and not too impressive with Ford so far. Dead battery in 19 months and need new tire soon too.

Ford tends to put what I believe to be less than adequate batteries in their vehicles. Don't ask me how I know.

Ford’s build quality is down, unfortunately. They are only worried about the bells and whistles, and an impressive test drive. After that, they are just hoping to get you out of the warranty period.

Batteries / tires are certainly built/equipped for a price point but they ALSO are affected by the end users in their use of the vehicles, driving styles, geography (weather -cold/hot-) and overall usage of their vehicle. For me, if you make it past 2 years with a battery in the Arizona desert you are lucky and has been the case with 4 different automakers and their OEM supplied batteries.
