My 2000 XLT drives great and handles nicely,,,,but as of late, i am getting a noise whenever i hit a bump in the road,,,,i spent alot of time under it tring to find something loose and came up empty handed,,,,could somebody please give me and idea on what to look for,,,,thanks.

New brakes all the way around,,and the front end seems tight....

Worn out shocks, including the 5th shock or loose shock mounts.Make sure the exhaust is tight and that the converter shield isn't rattling or the inside of the converter itself.I used to see GM honeycomb converters break apart internally and rattle.:D

i replaced my front shocks this afternoon and the noise seems to have gone away except for when i turn a corner, and it feels like something pops...i can feel it on the floorboard whenever I turn either direction..my first thought was the halfshafts....but they are fairly new,,,,and this explorer never goes offroad.
