Have always been a fan of explorer as my parents always owned them. I drove a 98 for a couple years as my first car at 16. After that I was determined to eventually own one as my dad took it back. It's been a couple years. I recently bought a sweet 92 from an oldercouple. They had bought it from their friends whom had had bought it new. It was only used sometimes in the winter and they had always left in the winter to a house down south. So It only had 65k on it. Since it was always in the garage everything was in good condition. The body was like new with no rust, and underneath has almost no rust. I was surprised by how well it had held up. I had to have it. The transmission fluid had looked great upon purchase. Everything worked and it ran good before the transmission went out soon after. The overdrive was the first to go. I was devastated. I want to keep it, but I will have to try and sell it as I need a car for work.

Thanks. It sucks I have to get rid of it. I really wanted to keep it and eventually fix it. Oh well I'll just get a newer explorer in the next couple years. Although its becoming harder and harder to find these first gens.

Welcome.
