Upper Ball joint squeek????

On the drivers side upper A-arm(I think) (its the part that has an arm on either side of the shock. it is squeeking everytime I go over a bump or even when I get in and out of the vehicle. Is that an upper ball joint? how hard is it to fix??

I just had a similar squeek fixed. It squeeked when I went over a bump, when I rocked the truck even the smallest amount, and also when I just turned the steering wheel while stopped. They replaced the upper control arm and bushing (this is the uppermost arm in the wheel well.)

I had this fixed under warranty so I don't know what's involved in replacing it.

i had the same problem and went to les schwab and had to have my lower ball joint replaced not the upper but it was kinda spendy, everyone on the site said it was to hard to fix and it would be better to have a profesional do it, i think i paid like 250.00 or something like that

How can I tell if it is the ball joint or the bushing? I can hear and feel the squeek at the upper A arm bushing when someone rocks it while I am under the truck. TO check ball joints you try to move the wheel up and down while jacked up right? What about moving the wheel side to side? does that help?

im not sure,but you can take it to any tire, alignment shop type of place and should be able to check it out for you, im not sure where u are located, but i know the places around here will check it for free and tell you what the problem is.

The upper control arm is part of the upper balljoint. The whole thing has to be replaced, if the infact that is the problem. To bad it wasn't the passenger side. It's much easier to replace.
Is it coming from the balljoint itself or from the portion of the control arm that attaches to the frame? Try spraying some WD40 up on top where the control arm attaches to the frame
