USB port question…

When I got my PIU, it had a civilian console installed. The place that installed it apparently took the east way out and hooked up NO power ports. I have an odd question here, I have a dual USB port from police Tahoe I owned. Would it be easy to run some power wires from the PIU to this plug and just cut a hole in this console and pop it in? I don’t how standard the plugs are, nor do I have any idea on how to wire up this port. I just want it for charging my phone.

Sure. Just add a new circuit with a fuse, or tap into a fused circuit.

HC3Z-19A387-E would be the direct replacement/upgrade. There is even an option for USB/USB C.​

If you have an earlier console, in the front compartment there is likely a SD card slot/inputs - this module would pop out via retaining clips and you clip the new one in. Wiring off the (numerous) PIU accessory harnesses under the center stack is a breeze.​

I’m guessing that I have an older console. I don’t know. The place I got it from put it in so I don’t even know how to remove it yet, but I’m gonna have to in order to connect things I guess. USB C would be a great option!
