Im just wondering if anyone has wrangled an amp rack or glassed in a sub or two under the back seats? There is room under there its just an odd shape.

Right now I have a q-logic stealth box with an Elemental Designs E10O in the stock location. Im thinking of glassing in a few 8" subs or some really agressive 6.5's under the rear seats as I really need some more bass/midbass. I have Cadence Neo's in the front sealed doors. They hit hard but not hard enough. I have Kenwood Excelon 6.5" coaxs in the rear doors. These pups are about 5 years old and they were $250 new. While they lack real hard core low end, they have exceptional midrange and up. I often have more than two people in the Explorer so I need them.

I am also toying with a set of Aura Bass Shakers under the front seats or bolted to the seats themselves.

Anyone used the area under the back seats?

If you want more midbass than glass some pods on the front doors

Wouldn't it get in the way of the seat folding down?

Im not sure about your Ex but my 2000 Ex EB has back seat bottoms that are static, they dont move. The seat backs lay down on them but not completely flat. So, like I was saying, I have this space and I was wondering if others have used it for amps or subs.

My glassing days are over. I was in two car accidents with in a month and have had 3 surgeries (neck fusion, spine fusion and shoulder clean out). I have permanent nerve damage in my upper back and it prohibits me from doing it. It was the 1st plan. Im 6'5" and need all the space I can get. Any bump outs from the door would hit me in the leg. My leg already blocks too much.

Thanks for the suggestions. Still looking for ideas for that space.

Contact Phil at woodlawncabinetry.com He builds a lot of underseat and behind seat applications for trucks, and he's a hell of a nice guy to boot. If anyone has made one, he's done it.
