I know I need to do the timing chains, but for some reason I do not want to spend the 100 bucks on an oil pump and gaskets. Someone talk me out of that? The warranty even requires it - like how would they know?

I can tell when a water pump is going bad, so I am passing on that as well.

Besides the main seals and timing chains, what does any one else suggest I do to the new/used motor before the swap?

I am just rying to put a plan together.

I only plan on putting 3K miles a year on this truck, and may even sell it before the year is up (I wonder how many folks will say "SELL IT ONCE ENGINE IS INSTALLED!!!!)" Seriously, longest I will own this truck is 2-3 years or 6-,000 9,000 miles.

P.S. Special thanks to 2000StreetRod for all his help during my saga. Anyone know how to "mention" a user in a post?

Thanks - DW
