Hi this is my first post...

Heres my problem.. I own a 2008 ranger with the factory sirius package.. my 6 month subscription ran out. I purchased a stiletto 2 and I am currently using it inside my house. What adapter would be needed to use the factory antenna on stiletto's car dock? I have already pulled the headliner and made sure its not the same.. is there a generic antenna that uses the same whole etc? maybe a different model from the same company? I believe the maker is Bracketron. Anyways please let me know.. I really want it up and running without spending money on another subscription!.

Just switch your subscription over to the factory setup. That way you don't have to install a new radio and possibly antenna. I also doubt you will find an adapter to go from the Ford antenna to the generic Sirius antenna.

sirius

the whole point is so I can take my stiletto with me.. from the car to the house/cottage. I will run another antenna if need be it just seems pointless to me. What about a head unit with module compatible with factory antennas? all my searches come up blank.

Most headunits don't have a built in receiver for the sirius, but use a separate receiver that just plugs into the deck. Not sure if they have anything that will work with what you are trying to do. You may want to try to contact Crutchfield and see if they have anything that will work for you.

sucess

after looking around I found a ford edge forum, It said to remove the plastic end off the sirius wire and it will fit the antenna spot on a portable unit. I tried it and it worked, the only problem is I broke the connector and now nothing works. I will go to ford tomorrow and order a replacement cable. after which I will let everybody know if it works or not..

In a nutshell, unplug antenna from the Sirius brain behind glove box, remove connector[just pull off the clip and the plastic end will come off, the end remaining should plug into your Sirius dock. your now bypassing the factory input, ideal if your Sirius willing be plugged into an aux in on an aftermarket deck!!

It works

It works!!! the stock wire just has to have the end CAREFULLY taken off and the metal connector is a factory sirius piece!! I have full reception bars on my unit!!! This will help alot of guys looking the mystical conversion cable... now all I need is an explorer roof console, so I can glass my unit into it.. let me know were I can find one.. I will write a sticky if needed/wanted..
