very bad idle problems

Hello, this is my first post. 2002 ranger edge 3.0 65,000 miles threw code p0442 and started missing. Took truck to dealer,said coil going bad.New coil still missing at idle. Have an evap leak above gas tank. Will evap leak cause miss, If not, what to do next. Replaced plugs,wires also. Thanks

Hi and welcome pa0700. It depends on how bad the leak is at your evap cannister. If it's a pretty bad leak, you will have problems related to a bad vacuum leak and that can certainly cause some mis-firing.

thanks it is a leak coming from the top of the gas tank where fuel pump is located. Dealer says it will not cause a miss. What about IAC. Had a smoke test done. Will fix leak shortly.
