Guys, a while back when the weather got cold, I posted that sometimes when I drove the truck, it would randomly start making a whining whirring sound from the drivetrain. It seems that it only happens after I go in reverse, and back forward????
When Im driving with the whining.. the whine increases in pitch and freq. when I step on the gas.
I slowed down to a near stop and the whine went away.
When I pressed the 4x4 button, the whine goes away???
ANy ideas at all what this can be? I just had a rebld, they messed up the first time and rebuilt it because a pin slipped in the tranny, making it go in R and D at the same time. I dont think it's the tranny, but it might be?? It ONLY happens in cold weather, Last time it happened it was about 40's.. now its 40's again.. so Im assuming that the cold weather has an effect on the lubrication of this part maybe????
what is it? my hubs? my tranny? my transfercase???? any ideas at all?
