Hello to all! My first post as i am a new member! Thanks for having me! Ok...so i have a 1998 Explorer Sport 2wd and i am getting the craziest vibration from my front end at speeds of 60 and up. I have replaced all ball joints, stab links, rotors with all new bearings and just today replaced the steering rack with new outer tie rods. I have also rotated my tires to see if there is a change but to no avail! I have done multiple checks on the entire front end and eveything is quite tight. I'm reading about a possible bad transmission mount or bad u-joints on the drive shaft?? Note that my vehicle is 2wd so i don't have a front driveshaft. I've been working on cars part time for years and always do all maintenance and service of my vehicles. This has got me baffled. I'm wondering about proper tire balance? But again i've rotated my tires and i would think that i would feel some type of change..no luck. What can it be?? Thanks....Tommy:eek:

The next step...

Did you look at alignment ,toe, chamber can all cause vibration
Thanks friend for your reply! I have not yet got an alignment. It is the first order of business tomorrow as i will drop it at the corner shop in the morning. Of course after replacing the steering rack i installed the new outer tie rods and matched the measurement to the old ones as close as possible. The wheel is slightly out of alignment, but i wouldn't have thought this to cause such a problem. After further thought i certainly now can believe it could cause this vibration. Thank you again and i will be back to let you know what transpires!!

Big thanks to Trackerforsport!! Got the alignment on my front end and sure enough the crazy vibrations are gone! Was so pleased to get on the highway and hit 60mph without the horrible feeling that my wheels were going to fall off...see you down the road...
