Just found the site, think it is awesome that something like this is available!!!
I have an '05 EB 4X4 and am wanting to put some bigger tires on it. Just trying to see what options are out there. If anyone has input on what you can replace without a lift that would be great. OEM is 245/65/17.
I would love to be able to put 33's on it but not sure if I could do that without a lift, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Search for "Max Lift and Tire".

Welcome! 265/75r16 is the biggest you can comfortably go with no lift. Take a look at RoadBully or some others with a body lift and spacers/springs and 285/75r16(33's), they look great.

A couple of guys have went with 285s and no lift but it did not work for very long. You need five or six inches of lift to pull them off right.

In 17s, you'll want a 265/70/17 which is 31.6", or maybe even a 275/70/17 (this might be pretty close to touching something though; it's a 32.2" tyre)

This is the site I use to work out tyre heights etc:

Thanks for the information!!! The look you have on your explorer is what I am trying to accomplish. The stock tires on it just don't do the ex any justice. You only have a spring lift?? or do you have a body lift in it as well?? Again thanks for the info.

Just a spring lift for me at this stage. If I were starting again, I wouldn't even bother with spring lift, and I would go straight for RBs strut spacers. They give you the exact lift for whatever sized spacer you buy, whereas the spring lifts depend on what shocks you have, how old they are, etc. And yes, I agree the stock tyres are way too small for these trucks.

ive got a 05 ex stock suspension for the moment and i just bought 255 75 17 its 32 inch its tight butt doesnt touch anything under !!

Are you running stock wheels?

I had 235/65/16's on my mounty stock ( i think thats the size)

But i upgraded to 245/75/16's

I got BFG M/T's so i didnt wanna take any chances with rubbing issues, cause theres some huge nubbies on those things!

I measured it and everything, i could have comfortably fit 265's on there BUT my Left Rear running board sticks out an extra inch for some reason and it would have gotten RIGHT in the way of the rear left wheel-well if I upgraded my tire to 265's......

Didnt wanna trim or cut anything, so i just went atad smaller.....

Plus noone could give me a solid answer on Explorers vs Mountaineers.....
And i ordered th tires from the internet, so i DIDNT wanna have to send them back if they didnt fit correctly!!!

But YES, explorers and Mountaineers have the same clearance!
